Show Jail-a-thom successfel A little time spent in "Jail" by many good citizens recently has surely saved a lot of time from the effects of cancer for many more. The American Cancer Society Jail-a-thon fund-raising event in Davis County concluded with record re-cord results and an increasingly positive effect on the communities. The battle against cancer, the health problem which costs more years of life in our society than any other, is being won through re- Over 2,600 patients in Utah this year and many thousands over the years have been reached by other volunteers who provide information, informa-tion, support, and other assistance to help diminish the suffering from cancer in individual lives. The 40,000-plus volunteers who make up the American Cancer Society Soci-ety in Utah send heartfelt thanks to all those who participated in the 1988 Jail-a-thon. The American Cancer Society has been active in Utah since 1943 and retains the funds raised here for use in the state.
