Show JR he Way It Was: 83 Years Ago in Davis County July 27, 1905 BOUNTIFUL Remember the ball game between Bountiful and Kaysville at Lagoon on Sunday School day, Monday, Aug. 7th. Lt. Charles Telford is coming home from the Philippines on a fur- lough next month. James Arbuckle is expecting to have a telephone installed in his residence this week. John Porter, one of the two pioneers of 1847 who lives in this place, went to Salt Lake on the 24th to be in the parade with the pioneers. The telephone line down to County Commissioner Nelson's is being built, but may not be finished for several days yet as the company com-pany is short of hands. 71 Years Ago in Davis County July 26, 1917 SYRACUSE Mr. Albert Tree was in Ogden, Friday. BOUNTIFUL Miss Polly Holbrook spent a short vacation in Ogden Canyon. FARMINGTON Governor and Mrs. Simon Bamberger were visitors in Farmington Sunday as guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Rice. KAYSVILLE Miss Verda Robins of Salt Lake City visited Miss Verna Chipman the forepart of the week. LAYTON Mary E. Roberts is spending a week in Hooper with her daughters. There will be a meeting at the courthouse in Farmington this evening for the purpose of perfecting perfect-ing the plans and providing a programme prog-ramme as a farewell reception in honor of the volunteer soldiers and sailors who have enlisted from Davis County. The function will be held at Lagoon on a date to be agreed on. At the meeting committeemen commit-teemen from every ward in the county will be present. |
