Show Bountiful City Council okays building projects By GARY R. BLODGETT BOUNTIFUL Plans for construction con-struction of a convenience store in the Colonial Square Shopping Center, Cen-ter, 526 W. 2600 S., were unveiled to the Bountiful City Council last Wednesday night. City Engineer Jack Balling told the council that Winder Dairy has submitted plans for the proposed development which would be built on about Wi lots in the shopping center. A spokesman for Winder Dairy said the store will be open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. and would feature fea-ture various dairy and bakery products. pro-ducts. The store will have a drive through window on the west side of the building, he noted. Two trucks will be housed in the storage area of the building at night but would be out servicing the community during the day, the dairy representative explained. The council gave final site approval for the store which should be completed within the next few months. In other city council action. approval was given for a six-lot subdivision in Phase Four of Brid-lewood Brid-lewood Subdivision; the green light was given for expansion of the Bountiful Recreation Complex (bubble); and restrictions were placed on artificial flowers left at the Bountiful City Cemetery. The Bridlewood development will include six lots at the intersection intersec-tion of Bridlewood Drive and Monarch Drive at the south end of Bountiful. Mr. Balling told the council that the single-family lots will comply with the city's Hillside Ordinance with a minimum of 16,000 square feet and 80-foot frontages. fron-tages. He said the city has been working work-ing with Davis County and North Salt Lake to align the streets and that this has now been completed. City Manager Tom Hardy told the council that bid applications have been prepared and ready to let out to contractors for expansion and remodeling of the City Sports Center at 150 West 500 North. The expansion will include four new handball (racquetball) courts, dressing rooms for hockey teams, the access area to the facility, and enlargement of the snack bar area. The council also approved placing plac-ing a restriction on the public leaving leav-ing artificial flowers at the City Cemetery during the summer lawn mowing season between April 1 and Oct. 31. He said the restrictions will go into effect next year and signs will be posted throughout the cemetery. |
