Sears, vice president and member of the board of directors of the Phillips Petroleum Company, New York City, has become chairman of the University Univer-sity National Advisory Council. The announcement Was made on campus during the council's annual fall meeting. The council consists of 25 members from a variety of professional profes-sional fields. Members assist the University administration and the Institutional Council as consultants, consul-tants, information sources and evaluators. The new chairman is a 1936 graduate of the University. In 1956, Mr. Sears received the University's Uni-versity's "Outstanding Achieve-s" Achieve-s" mcnt in Business Award," and in : 1967 was awarded the honorary professional degree of "fuels engineer" en-gineer" by the University College of Engineering and the College of l- Mines and Mineral Industries. He Robert N. Sears... National Advisory Council lead is president of the New York Chapter of the University Alumni Association. Mr. Sears began his business career with Wasatch Oil Company in Salt Lake City in 1938. He has since completed several government govern-ment assignments and now serves on the Department of Defense Foreign Petroleum Supply Committee Com-mittee and its Petroleum Security Subcommittee. |
