Show License just beginning Marriage brings with it many responsibilities and changes, things that the typical young couple does not think about. Before the wedding the couple must apply for a marriage license at the office of the county clerk. All applicants must first have a blood test to check for venereal disease. The blood test is the only premarital requirement in Utah. This year 1,389 couples have taken out marriage licenses. The cost for each license is $5. Rodney Williams, Marriage Deputy Clerk estimate that he performs about 600 marriages a year in his office at the City and County Bldg. Mr. Williams said, "May, June, July, August and September are the busiest wedding months." The license is only the begin-, ning of beginning a life with someone else. The Utah State Bar Assoc. gives some hints to the new couDle. Actually the marriage vows are the agreement of the partners to enter into a legal contract. There are three parties to that contract: 1. You 2. Your spouse; and 3. the State of Utah Utah. Both must realize that each has an obligation to support the other. The husband has the primary prim-ary duty to provide support for the family, however certain conditions con-ditions may require that a wife be held responsible for the support sup-port of her husband and children. The bride's adjustment is es-, es-, pecially great because she is changing her name.
