He returned to the campus as deputy academic vice president presi-dent and professor of philosophy and last summer was also appointed ap-pointed professor of philosophy of education. He has authored four books, numerous articles a n d papers, pa-pers, and has worked with in-service in-service training programs for teaching assistants, new deans, department chairmen and faculty. Dr. Parmley has contributed nearly 50 years of service to the University. He joined the faculty in 1921, was appointed professor of physics in 1947 and professor emeritus of physics in 1966. He served as chairman of the Department De-partment of Physics from 1957 to 1963 and has conducted National Science Academic Year Institutes on campus since 1957. Dr. Parmley Parm-ley received his B.S. degree from the University in 1921 and his Ph. D. degree in 1927 from Cornell University. Parmley, professor pro-fessor emeritus of physics, will honored at the commencement exercises. The honor carries with an award of 51,000 in special gifts. During the school year he was a visit ing scholar at Harvard University and during 1968-69, served as a Fulbright Professor at the University Uni-versity of Delhi, India. Dr. Adamson received his A.B. and M.A. degrees from the University in 1946 and 1947, and his Ph.D. from Harvard University Univer-sity in 1956. Digested Reader Dr. Jones joined the faculty in 1965. He received his B.A. and M.A. from University College, Wales, in 1949 and 1953, and h i s Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota Min-nesota in 1963. He taught in the Minnesota English Department from 1957 to 1965. While at Minnesota, Minne-sota, he organized and hosted several sev-eral series on theatre and poetry for television, founded the Minneapolis Min-neapolis Readers' Theatre and directed di-rected reading programs of material ma-terial ranging from Shakespeare to Shaw. Dr. Jones also helped to found the magazine "Drama Survey." He also founded the University Uni-versity Shakespeare Players. Dr. Monson received his B.S. and M.S. from the University in 1948 and 1949, and his Ph.D. in 1952 from Cornell University. He taught at the University of Nevada, Ne-vada, Chico State College and Cornell University before joining the University faculty in 1958. Dr. Monson has served as chairman of the Department of Philosophy, and during the 1965-66 academic year, he was selected by the American Am-erican Council on Education to serve as an academic adminis- |
