Show Recent films, better equipment for spring Union Movies Some recent and fairly new movies have been planned for spring Quarter of 1970. They are: Virginia Woolf, Up the Down Staircase, Downhill Racer, The Sterile Cuckoo, Goodbye Columbus, Romeo and ''"H Bonnie and Clyde, Bullet, The Thomas Crown Affair, Sex and Single Girl. . Randy Buchmiller and the Union Movie Committee announced vast improvements are to be made in the Union Movie schedule and in the equipment. Since Buchmiller became the chairman of the com-"""ee, com-"""ee, he has adopted the policy that the movies "should be a service 0 the student and the rest of the campus community, and should always al-ways meet their needs." Buchmiller and his committee, made up of University students Carol Von Waggoner, secretary; Tina Ellsworth, public relations, and Marsha Foster, Chronicle representative, has brought up the standard of the movies. Financially, they have brought in $3,000, and are now grossing $1,000 per week. This quarter's gross is higher than that of all of last year. The new equipment includes a larger screen in cinemascope and a bigger and more efficient projector, plans are being laid for a concession con-cession stand. With the improvements that are being made, the price of the movies will nevertheless remain at the same price, 75 cents. |
