Show Poli sci profs book acclaimed The President as Chief Administrator was published last year by Public Affairs Press, Washington. A book by Dr. A. J. Wann, University professor and chairman of the Department of Political Science, was critically acclaimed recently in the American Political Science Review, official publication of the American Political Science Association and the leading national journal in the field. The President as Chief Administrator is "an excellent administrative history of the Roosevelt era," says Professor Peter Woll of Brandeis University. "This book pulls together most of I . the diverse literature relating to the administrative branch under Roosevelt .... the synthesis of these materials is well done and valuable." Reviewer Woll says that in addition to providing new insights for scholars of administration, Dr. Wann's book "is particularly valuable for students of administration who all too frequently these days have little understanding of the historical roots of the administrative branch." |
