Show I ROTC cadets to host civic leaders The University's Department of Military Science will host a get-acquainted open house on Thursday from 3 to 5:30 p.m. for approximately 100 Salt Lake City area community leaders. The event, coordinated by Clarence C. Neslen, civilian aide to the secretary of the army for Utah, will give civilian community leaders an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the University's Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program and the role it plays in America's defense program. Col. Ottis M. Plant, professor and chairman of the Military Science Department, says guests will be briefed by cadets on the program's curriculum and activities, view a 15-minute film on the department, tour facilities of the Military Science Bldg. and witness a ROTC leadership laboratory training session. |
