Show Chronys Taken -- Again About 8,000 issues of the Chronicle Chron-icle were taken Wednesday between 7:30 and 8 a.m. in what appeared to be another mass heist of the papers. About 800 copies were found at the library in a trash can. Later Wednesday, 4,000 extra copies of the day's issue were run off and distributed. Reward!! $50 will be rewarded for information infor-mation leading to the apprehension apprehen-sion of persons found stealing bundles of Chronicles. Information should be reported to the Security Department. License number and description of person would be helpful. "The cost of running the press for the extra copies was $360," said Ed Ditterline, Chronicle business manager. University Police are investigating investigat-ing the heist. "We are working on a couple of leads," police spokesman said. Third Time The taking of the papers yesterday yester-day was the third time the Chronicle Chron-icle has been sabotaged this year. On February 19, negatives for that days paper were stolen out of a delivery truck at White Horse Press, and four page negatives from a last year's issue of the Chronicle were substituted in their place. Three days later, Chronicles were taken in mass from campus distribution distri-bution boxes, similar to the way they di.- ippeared yesterday. The Student Behavior Committee is presently looking into the previous prev-ious offenses, and a case will come before the committee sometime this week. |
