Show . Newman To Present The Amorous Flea' Newman Theatre will present March 8 and 9 the play, "The Amorous Flea" an adaptation of Moliere's "School for Wives." "Flea" is an enjoyable musical comedy produced by Bill Barber and directed by Steve Cope. It is the story of a middle-aged man in 17th century France who sets out to create a perfect wife. He adopts a girl of four and begins her training train-ing to make her "a delicious feminine fem-inine counterpart" of himself. To protect her from evil outside influences, he locks her in a garrett behind a gate behind a moat behind be-hind a wall. The play opens when the girl is 18 and has fallen in love with a young man who bribes the servants into letting him in to see the girl. The play takes an enjoyable twist when the old man finances the young man's stay in the city and then learns of the illicit romance. ro-mance. Larry Piatt plays Arnolphie (the old man) ; Susan Cafarelli as the young girl Agnes; and her beau Horace is played by Thorn Gatenby. Gaten-by. Also appearing are Allan Heap, Chrysalde; Howard Neslen, Alain; Lucious Betty Woodward, Georgette; Georg-ette; Dave Bernini, Oronte; and Phil Bernal, Enrique.
