Show Completed Evaluation Cards Due Friday A large response in the returning of course evaluation cards, 36,000 of the 48,000 sent out, will help provide a complete and valid evaluation evalu-ation of professors, said Bill Cal-laghan, Cal-laghan, course evaluation chairman, chair-man, Monday. "This degree of response was higher than expected," said Cal-laghan, Cal-laghan, "and will result in a useful, use-ful, valid survey." In addition to the 36,000 cards returned, a large number have been returned to the registration boxes but have not been tabulated. "There were minor problems incurred; in-curred; some 4,000 cards were sent out late, few of which have been returned," stated Callaghan. "We urge all students to please return their cards as quickly as possible. We make our final collection Friday." Fri-day." Some cards were returned either mutilated or blank, while other cards were not filled out correctly. These cards cannot be included in the tabulation. "Students didn't mutilate the cards to be mean," said Callaghan, "They were paranoidly concerned with the professor hurting their grade, and they didn't know this couldn't happen." The computer program, which will tabulate the responses and add the correlative information, is now being processed at the University Computer Center. The cards will be run after the students' grades have been turned in. It will take only five minutes to run the cards once the program has been prepared. |
