It will be a student-faculty committee appointed by the University President. The Council will have the responsibility of hiring staff, letting contracts and working as the clearing house for the radio stations problems. The powers of the station manager were considered similar to that of any publication on campus. He will have complete freedom as to what is put on the air, but he must bear the responsibility re-sponsibility for what has been brcadcast. His powers and responsibilities respon-sibilities will not differ much from those vested in the Chronicle editor. Responsible to Council He will be responsible to the KUTE Council. The station will concern itself with campus affairs only, according ac-cording to Walter Clinger, student organizer. It will differ from the present radio station KUER since it will confine broadcast material to the campus. The present push for the station came out of the dorms. The station hopes to grow into the whole campus community, featuring material on the Greek system and student government. |
