Nine members of the Executive Council shall constitute a quorum to transact the business of the Council. ARTICLE V, Section 1A; Eligibility of President. Presi-dent. Shall be a member of the ASUU and shall have completed 72 credit hours prior to his term of office. Succession Requirements ARTICLE V, Section 2A; Election and Succession. Succes-sion. Shall be elected for a term of one year to begin on the first day of May by the ASUU membership at a general election to be held prior to May 1 at a date and under conditions to be determined by the ASUU Executive Council and in accordance with University regulations. ARTICLE V, Section 2B (new section) ; Shall select a vice chaijman for the Executive Council Coun-cil from among the board chairmen within three weeks of taking office. The vice chairman shall function as ASUU president in his absence or until a new president is chosen. The president shall have the power to request Student Regulations Regula-tions Committee to remove the vice chairman. The Student Regulations Committee will consider the request and take the action it deems appropriate. approp-riate. If Office Vacated ... ARTICLE V, Section 2C (new section); Should the office of ASUU president be permanently perman-ently vacated, the ASUU Executive Council shall select a new president for the remainder of the unexpired term or at the discretion of the Executive Ex-ecutive Council may call for a general election to elect a president to fill the unexpired term. ARTICLE VIII, Section 1A; Election of the Senior Class President, shall be elected during the regular ASUU elections and shall be a senior during his entire term of office which shall start the quarter following elections. ARTICLE X, Section 2A; Shall be conducted ' during the spring quarter of each year and shall involve a general election, held prior to May 1 at a date and under conditions determined by . the Executive Council and in accordance with University regulations, of all the 'ASUU elected officers as provided herein. The above articles and sections are the written additions, to . the ASUU Constitution. The following fol-lowing Constitutional sections have had changes in wordage; ARTICLE IV, Section 21, concerning the vacancies va-cancies in the elected ASUU Offices. ARTICLE V, Section 3B,' concerning the pow- ' ers and duties of the ASUU president. ARTICLE VI, Section 3B, concerning the powers and duties of the Student Faculty Board. Replaces Section ARTICLE V, Section 3B, was struck from the Constitution. . This section " provided that the chairman of - the Student Faculty Board shall . ' serve as the vice chairman. "The section was . replaced with the section providing the power1 for the ASUU President to choose his vice chairman. chair-man. ARTICLE VI, Section 3B7, was struck from the ASUU Constitution. This section provided for the power of the chairman of the Student Faculty Board to serve as chairman of the Executive Council in the absence of the president. Section Changes ' Place , ARTICLE1 X, Section. 3A; was also struck from the Constitution. This section outlined the pro- cedure for .the ASUU general election., The procedure pro-cedure has been combined into one section entitled en-titled Period and Procedures of Election. Along with the vote on the' revisions of the ASUU Constitution, the studentbody will be vot-'ing vot-'ing of the .Gee Amendment.
