Show Vote Yes The revised ASUU Constitution faces the studentbody today and Thursday Thurs-day for their approval or disapproval. This year the document was minutely changed, because of this fact and because be-cause the changes were in the form of revisions instead of amendments the studentbody must vote on the document. stitution passes the student vote there will be no change in the way student government operates. If the revisions fail to pass the studentbody, the ASUU .government will function under the Constitution now in existence. The campus will not revert back to the old form of government with class officers and a student senate. The vote on the Constitution is nothing more than a formality established estab-lished through tradition. It is mandatory manda-tory that the students have a voice in the revisions, but this voice they have will in no way change student government. govern-ment. The only major areas of change comes in the extention of the presidential presiden-tial powers, which he badly needs. Other than that the revisions are geared to clarifications in articles already al-ready established. Therefore, since the revisions are small and the vote will not necessarily affect student government, we support the approval of the revised ASUU Constitution and recommend that the studentbody vote affirmatively on the document. . . . . .. |
