Show Don't Picket Barnett, Asks Commission The University Civil Rights Commission Com-mission asked Wednesday that former for-mer Mississippi Governor Ross Barnett Bar-nett not be picketed when he speaKs Monday night for "Challenge "Chal-lenge Week." George Pugsley, committee chairman, said that student demonstrations dem-onstrations could do the University Uni-versity civil rights program more harm than good unless any action ac-tion was taken "in good taste." The NAACP plans to picket Barnett Bar-nett when he arrives in Salt Lake City in the same manner that the Michigan Governor George Romney was picketed last month. Although the Romney pickets invoked no extraordinary problems, the commission com-mission felt that Barnett's strong segregationist policies could cause the University embarrassment. |
