Show 14 Lady Firemen Attend Union Meet The twentieth West Coast Union Meeting of the Brotherhood Brother-hood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen and Ladies' Society, So-ciety, held in Oakland, Calif., Oct. 11 to 13, was attended by 14 members of Utahna Lodge No. 358 of Milford. Grand President Gilbert of the Brotherhood Broth-erhood and Grant President Hattificld of the Ladies' Society were present. The Initiatory drill team of Utahna Lodge exemplified Initiation, Ini-tiation, with President Virginia Fowles presiding. Conductress Phyllis Erickson, Chaplain La-ree La-ree Moore and pianist Christy Lyman, with the drill team, were complimented very highly for their beautiful work. At the testimonial dinner on Friday Sam Phillips, assistant to the president, was presented with a 40-year membership button by President Gilbert. The principal speaker, Gov. Frank Clements of Tennessee, emphasized close cooperation between labor and government. On Saturday afternoon, in perfect weather, a three-hour bay cruise was enjoyed by more than 300 members. A buffet supper Saturday evening closed j the meeting. Mrs. Laree Moore, a charter member of the Milford lodge, joined the ladies in Salt Lake. Other members attending were Ann Bird, LaVera Meeker, Marjorie Harton, Marilyn Mer-ryweather, Mer-ryweather, Lanora Swindle-hurst, Swindle-hurst, Jerry Memmott, Pat Johnson, Alma Sly, Margaret Lund and Ethel Smith. |
