Mr. and Mrs. Gus Lambson, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Pearson, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pearson motored to Circleville last week to attend funeral services for a friend, Charles Simpkins, 82. Mr. and Mrs. Simpkins usually .'.pent several weeks each year with their Minersville friends. 9 Mrs. Frieda Wood, county Republican Re-publican chairwoman, was in Salt Lake Monday to attend a special meeting of county Republican Re-publican officials. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baker have returned from Salt Lake where Mr. Baker received medical med-ical treatment. Visiting in Minersville from their home in St. George are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Baker-. Both will observe their birth anniversaries anni-versaries next month, when Mr. ' Baker will be 89 (Nov. 20) and . Mrs. Baker will be 81 on the 28th. Prior to moving to St. George they resided in Minersville, Miners-ville, where they raised seven children. e Another worthy .ex-resident of Minersville is Mrs. Ida Hol-lingshead. Hol-lingshead. affectionately known :is 'Aunt Ide,': who observed her 83rd birthday on Oct. 2. She is recovering from a fractured frac-tured hip, and is in Cedar City but usually lives in Panaca. Belated birthday greetings to this fine lady. Mrs. Etta Rollins and Alice, of St. George, visited over the week end with friends and relatives rela-tives in Minersville. Mrs. Fred Smith and infant son have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arshel Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Smith reside in Nevada, where Mr. Smith is employed by Standard Stations. Mrs. Ella Wood spent sever- ' al days in Salt Lake last week, I receiving medical attention. The , health of her husband, George, is slowly improving. Brenda Marshall, daughter of the Howard Marshalls, observed her seventh birthday this past week. A party was given in her honor. Marline, daughter of the Harold Har-old Bakers, is now living in Sait -( v Lake, where she was transferred by Milne Truck Lines. Her husband will return soon from an LDS mission. a Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Carter of Las Vegas will be in Minersville Miners-ville for a two week vacation, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hall. Bennett was introduced in Minersville when he visited this community last week by Mrs. Frieda Wood, Republican Re-publican county chairman. Also in the group were R. R. Thomas of Beaver, candidate for county coun-ty commissioner; county commission com-mission candidate Carl Goodwin and Mrs. Goodwin of South Mil-ford, Mil-ford, and Karl Truman, candidate candi-date for state representative. Mrs. Truman entertained at a question and answer session, attended by a large group of I people, and Mrs. Heber Gillins I and Mrs. Charles Jameson also . held similar meetings in their homes.
