STEVE IN-MAN IN-MAN announce the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Janice Lynn, to Mr. Roger Aagard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Aagard. No definite date has been set for the wedding. MRS. J. R. MURDOCK entertained, en-tertained, her club Thurday evening. A dessert lunch was served on a lovely table decorated dec-orated with fall flowers. Bridge was played during the evening, with Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. Ray Magill and Mrs. Virgil Boucher winning prizes. Those present were Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. Boucher, Mrs. Magill, Ma-gill, Mrs. John Weston, Mrs. Lloyd Kohler, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Gordon Murdock. : NEW OFFICERS of the Lady . Lions took charge at the open-. open-. ing meiting of the season last Wednesday evening, in St. Brid- get's Recreation hall. Father Valine and the Catholic Ladies served a steak dinner, after which President Grace Jefferson Jeffer-son conducted the business meeting. Karen Walker, Girls State delegate sponsored by the Lady Lions, gave a very interesting report on Girls State activities. Mrs. Virginia Davis spoke on having Fullbright scholars from Denmark and Austria In homes under sponsorship of the Experiment Ex-periment in International Liv-j Liv-j ing. Purpose of the group, Mrs.- Davis said, is to provide an American home for several months for individual scholars from foreign nations before they enroll in school in the United States. Mayor Ray Kizer asked the Lady Lions to assist with the children's program at Christmas Christ-mas time, and the members accepted ac-cepted the project. On the committea of ar-; rangements for the very Interesting Inter-esting evening were Mrs. Billie j Stoker and Mrs. Virginia Davis. THE REGULAR meeting of the Milford Jayeees was held Thursday evening, Sept. 27, at St. Bridget's Recreation hall. Following the meeting, members mem-bers and their wives enjoyed a buffet dinner, furnished by the losing teams in a membership and attendance drive. The following program was given: Vocal trio, Bonnie Eastern, East-ern, Nola Christensen and Gayle Gale; piano solo, Billy Martin; accordian solo, Marjorie Mech-am. Mech-am. The remainder of the evening was spent dancing. MRS. EVA STONEHOCKER entertained her bridge club last Monday evening. At cards, Mrs. Kate McDonald, Mrs. Loretta Cline and Mrs. Stone-hocker Stone-hocker received the prizes. Other members and guests enjoying the evening were Mrs. Leah Pullem, Mrs. Grace Jefferson, Jef-ferson, Mrs. Jeanette Kohler, Mrs. Helen Bolton, and Mrs. Beatrice Spainhower. MR. AND MRS. CHAD DAL-LINS DAL-LINS of Spring-ville came to Milford Sunday, Oct. 2nd, to celebrate Mrs. Dallins' birth anniversary an-niversary with her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Al Kirk; Mr. and Mrs. Junior Kirk and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kirk and family. A very pleasant day was spent picnicking at the newly-equipped newly-equipped Legion Park picnic area. The Dallins' also visited Gene Kirk in the Milford Hospital, and Mrs. Gene Kirk, before returning re-turning to Springville. |
