Show UP SAFETY MEET PULLS 'FULL HOUSE' Union Pacific officials and afety experts conducted one of the most interesting of their periodic safety meetings in the Milford High School last Friday Fri-day evening, and a capacity crowd of railroaders turned out for the excellent food, the tips on safety procedures, and the entertainment, furnished" by a B Y U group including vocalists, vocal-ists, acrobats, violinists and comedians. One U P train crew, stymied at Provo waiting for a deadhead dead-head trip home, chartered two special planes to fly them to Milford in time for the meeting. Included in the air travelers were Mayor Ray Kizer, Thurland Thur-land D. Sly, Roy Shields, Jack Caw, and A. L. McDonald. Speakers on the program included in-cluded F. B. Lewis, Omaha, superintendent su-perintendent of safety; C. C. Larkin, general superintendent of the South-Central district; W. B. Groome, Utah Division superintendent, and M. W. Gusr tin, division engineer. Mayor Ray Kizer made a brief address welcoming the visitors to Milford. Mil-ford. Other officials present were H. S. Jensen, assistant superintendent superin-tendent of the Utah Division; E. D. Byrn, general roadmaster for Utah Division; L. J. Mem-mott, Mem-mott, signal supervisor, Utah Division; F. D. Acord, master mechanic, South-Central Division; Divi-sion; W. R. Davis, trainmaster, third subdivision; R. G. Jones, trainmaster, second sub-division; J. E. Drummond, road foreman of engines, and K. S. Russey, road foreman of en--gines. |
