Show BEAVER NAT'L GUARD PLANS OPEN HOUSE Service Battery, 213th Field Artillery Battalion, with headquarters head-quarters at Beaver, will hold "open house" at the Beaver Armory from 8 a. m. until 1 p. m. Saturday, Oct. 8th. The unit will be participating in "Operation Safeguard," a statewide recruiting drive designed de-signed to secure available recruits re-cruits to fill existing vacancies. All veterans and men 17 yea,rs of age or over are encouraged encour-aged to visit the armory to inspect in-spect and operate the National Guard equipment. The public is cordially invited to visit the armory and view the various pieces of army equipment. . Men who are interested in becoming members of the Beaver unit are invited to participate par-ticipate in a firing demonstration demonstra-tion at the Black Mountain Fir-ng Fir-ng Range Saturday afternoon. The firing demonstration will be conducted by Capt... Robert D. Osborn and will consist, of the firing capabilities of the M-l rifle, 30 calibre carbine, 45 pistol and 45 sub-machine gun.
