Show WINNERS NAMED IN MINERSVILLE STOCK SHOW A goodly number of high quality beef and dairy cattle and sheep were exhibited at the Beaver County Livestock Show held Monday, May 23, at Min-ersville. Min-ersville. In a very good range bull class the two top bulls were virtually tied for first place. The trophy awarded by the Minersville Cattle Association for the best range bull was awarded to Noel Wood of Minersville. Min-ersville. Marshall Bros, of Minersville won second with the bull that won the class last year. They received the lariat awarded by Jefferson Merc of Milford. Merton Wood of Minersville had third-place bull and was awarded a vaccinating syringe by Beaver Drug. Marshall Bros, had the top yearling bull and received a vaccinating gun from Martells of Beaver. Carl Truman had the top bull calf and his prize was a grease job and oil change from Dan's Service of Minersville. John R. Yardley of Beaver won the trophy for the top beef female awarded by the Milford Lions Club. Robert Gressman of Minersville Miners-ville won second and a pair of Levis from Lee's Merc of Minersville. Min-ersville. Nina Rue Yardley of Beaver won the trophy presented by Carl Truman for the best show i steer. Sylvia Yardley won sec-' sec-' ond and a mohair cinch award-I award-I ed by Low's Equipment of Beaver. j Nancy Yardley rf Beaver had top feeder steer and was awarded award-ed a $3 cash prize. Jess Baker of Beaver won the trophy given by Anderson Dairy for the Grand Champion Da;ry Cow. Ralph Pearson of Minersville won the trophy for the best . artificially sired heifer awarded award-ed by the Beaver and Miners-! Miners-! ville units of the Cache Valley Breeding Assn. Linda Sue Farrer of Beaver had the champion lamb. She was awarded a fishing reel by Dan's Service. Julia Ann Farrer Far-rer had champion ewe and won a larict from the Horn Silver Hotel of Milford. Winner of the Beef Fitting and Showing contest was Kenneth Ken-neth Yardley, of Beaver. He was awarded a show halter by Tri-State Lumber of Milford. Joe Murdock of Milford award- ed a pocket knife to second j place winner Scott Pearson of Minersville. Roland Yardley I was fourth and won a can of i hali dressing from Pryor's I Merc of Minersville. I Kenneth Yardley also won I first in the Dairy Fitting and I Showing contest and won a show halter given by Sam Clinc I of Milford. Kenneth Hollings- head won second and a hunting knife from Hood Equipment of Beaver. Karl Parkinson, third, received a rope halter from Pryor's Merc, and Douglas Al-brecht, Al-brecht, fourth, and Earl Gil-lins, Gil-lins, fifth, received T-shirts from the Holstein Breeders' of Utah. |
