Show MILFORD FIRST IN STATE TO REACH CANCER GOAL The Milford Cancer Drive committee, following the lead set in the American Red Cross drive, again put Milford in the spotlight of state recognition by being the first district to report over-the-top returns in the 1952 campaign for funds to carry on research and treatment in the cancer control fieM. Mrs. Wanda Holm, Milford city chairman, early this week received the following fol-lowing letter from State Head-quarterss Head-quarterss Mrs. Wanda Holm, Milford, Utah. Dear Mrs. Holm: Our heartiest congratulations to you and all the fine workers in West Beaver County for having hav-ing the distinction of being the first county to go "over the top." Announcement will be made in our next campaign bulletin bul-letin and will surely be a stimulus stimu-lus to many other county units in the State. Please convey the congratulations congratu-lations of our Board of Directors Direct-ors and all here in the office to your fine co-workers for this marvelous achievement. The house to house canvass was conducted under the direction direc-tion of Mrs. Holm, with volunteers volun-teers workers making calls in their immediate neighborhoods. The South Milford drive was under the leadership of Mrs. Loretta Cline, who also was general gen-eral chairman for Western Beaver Beav-er County. |
