Lish was called to be superintendent of the Y M MIA, with Robert Berger and Howard Sherwood as assistants. Phyllis Whittaker, Faye Berger, Nelda Memmott, Frank Jones, Lorraine Gillins and Boyd Evans were all given a vote of thanks for the fine service they have given the Mutual in the last two years. Mrs. Roberts, wife of Stanley C. Roberts, has been active in Mutual, Primary and Junior Sunday School work in the past. She has lived in Milford for six years, having come here from Meadow in 1946. Mr. Lish, who is employed by j the railroad, was born in Idaho. After his marriage to Ruth Na-dauld Na-dauld in 1941 they lived for a time in Salt Lake City, moving with his family to Milford in 1945. .Speakers in Sacrament meeting meet-ing last Sunday were Boyd Evans, Lorraine Gillins, Phyllis Whittaker, lone Roberts, Frank Jones and Howard Sherwood. Bonnie Munk, accompanied by Aaron Hansen, sang a solo. The closing number was a piano duet by Jeanette Stoker and Aaron Hansen. The birthday of the Relief Society So-ciety was observed by the Second Sec-ond Ward last Tuesday after-rnoon. after-rnoon. At the same time the past presidents of the Relief Society So-ciety were honored. The table for the luncheon was decorated in the Relief Society colors of blue and gold, with a beehive centerpiece and a birthday cake. There were also dolls dressed to represent the past presidents. Forty-five ladies, among them a number of the older members who have been unable to attend lately, enjoyed the luncheon and j the program. Those taking part on the program were Ireta Za-briskie, Za-briskie, Ardath Outzen, Mary Johnson, Florence Beard, Lil-Uan Lil-Uan Anderson, Cora Jones, Myrtle Myr-tle Hansen and Phyllis Whittaker. Whitta-ker. All the ladies were presented present-ed with daffodils. I On March 16th, there were 1.36 people at Sunday School and 80 at Sacrament meeting. Monthly correlation meeting was held last Sunday afternoon. All members of the bishopric were present, as well as the following fol-lowing numbers of workers from the organizations: Relief Society 6; Sunday School 17; Mutual 6; and Primary 8. A number of important announcements an-nouncements were made in last Sunday's meetings. It was announced an-nounced that the Ward Reunion will be held on April 11. Tickets for this will be $10 per family and are now available. On March 22 there will be an excursion ex-cursion to the temple for the High Priests of the Stake. Another An-other excursion to the temple will be he'd on May 3. This is for Primary children of the Second Ward to go to St. George to be baptized for the dead. A. A. Jones of South Milford has been set apart as the ward chairman of the Genealogical committee. He replaces Lewis J. Stewart, who was released Sunday night. Irene Stewart, who has been the secretary of the Genealogy committee, was also released. Boyd Evans has been called to the Stake Sunday School Board. He was released from his position as assistant to Sunday Sun-day School Supt. McCoy Williams. Wil-liams. Sustained and set apart to take his place in the Sunday School was Lorraine Gillins. Frank Jones has been chosen as Senior Scout Leader for the ward. Tod Chamberlain became the new scoutmaster, with Don Alger and Ga'e Banks as assistants. assist-ants. On March 17 Richard Leon Jones and Ross Patterson were set apart as instructors in the Adult Aaronic Priesthood. Time for Priesthood meeting has been changed from 7:30 to 8 p. m. on Monday evenings. |
