S. ..,.,. ...v. ,n.i .,. ,,,-, .,.imilJ OCCUPATIONAL SURVEY SHOWS "HIS" VOCATIONS OUTNUMBER "HERS" For the past four weeks the psychology class, under the direction di-rection of Principal Max 'G. Abbott, has been investigating the requirement of their desired occupations. Also ,they have been taking a job survey in Mil-ford. Mil-ford. In this survey it was found that there are 327 jobs held by young people under 22 years of age; 263 men and 164 women. SOPHOMORE SKID IS CANCELLED Due to a mistake in setting up dates on the activity calendar there will be no Sophomore Skid this year. It was discovered discov-ered that the Freshmen and Sophomores each had slated a dance in March and the dates were too close together to make a success for either dance. The Sophomores agreed by vote to allow the Freshmen to go ahead with their dance plans' j realizing that the Freshmen did . not have an after-game dance. All decorations and preparations prepara-tions that have been made for the dance are being held over to be used in the future. MUSIC NOTES j The Solo and Ensemble Festival Festi-val will be held at Hurricane, March 28th. There will be sev- . eral students participating from M H S. j " Dave Pullem and Zelda Mer--i ryweather will play a trumpet J duet; Dick Fisher, Ronnie Beel- 1 er and Bonnie Munk will each sing a vocal solo. , SENIOR CLASS NEWS j The Senior Class decided to j take the trip to St. George, 1 lApril 18th. This day has been ! set aside for all neighboring schools to get acquainted. Each j Senior class from the schools in j Region 6 is asked to present one i number for the forenoon assem- ' bly. Dixie Junior College will fur-I fur-I nish lunch for the students. I After lunch there will be swimming swim-ming and other forms of recreation recrea-tion in the city park. ' Joan Barnes will do individual ; work for the class. 1 I JERRY GOODWIN VISITS M H S Jerry Goodwin, "freshie" at the University of Utah, visited our school on March 17th. Jerry said it surely seemed good to be back for a while, but he really likes Salt Lake. He a!so said that he "is thinking seriously of mechanical engineering engi-neering in aircraft designing." He is studying biology, English, math, and air science. RAIN, SNOW, OR SHINE ? ? ? Wow! What weather! Will we ever have spring? If it isn't snowing, it's raining, and in March, too. Yes, I think we are having very queer weather. One day it's snowing, the next it is raining, and the next day it's nice and the sun is shining.
