Show HOLIDAY ON ICE OF 1950 BRINGS 100 TOP SKATERS TO UTAH STATE FAIR A spectacular display of skating skat-ing artistry by more than 100 performers in "Holiday on Ice of 1950" will be the main entertainment enter-tainment feature of the Utah State Fair hich opens Sept. 16 at the Fairgrounds in Salt Lake City. J. A. Theobald, secretary-manager secretary-manager of the fair, said Holi- day on Ice would play nightly thru the nine-day annual exposition, expo-sition, and in addition will present pre-sent two matinees. This year's extravaganza, Theobald said, is a new and improved im-proved edition' of the well-known well-known ice show which thrilled Utah audiences in two previous years. The 2V2-hour spectacle, which will go on in the Fair- grounds Coliseum, includes eight lavish production numbers and the greatest available skating skat-ing capacity. One of the more thrilling production pro-duction numbers is "Enchanted Garden," starring the LaVonne Trio. This is a charming fantasy fant-asy with a picturesque scenic background of flowers, trees and a dream house. Thru the number the trio combine dare - devilish tricks never before performed on ice with expert acro-adagio skating to produce a delightful pantomime. panto-mime. The number is climaxed with a glowing picture in magic black lighting. |
