Show FORD MOTORS OFFER PRIZES IN NATIONAL SAFETY CONTEST Mr. Bill Thorley, president of the Thorley Motor Co., Ford dealer at Cedar City, announces that he has. entered his dealership dealer-ship in a $100,000 car safety contest sponsored by the Ford division of the Ford Motor Co. Mr. Thorley is one of 6,000 Ford dealers thruout the nation who has entered his dealership in the contest, which runs thru October. Seven hundred prizes totaling $100,000 will be awarded award-ed winners, prizes including 25 new Fords (including five Ford trucks), 25 $1000 U S Savings Bonds, 100 $100 bonds, 200 $50 bonds and 350 $25 bonds. The contest has the support of the National Safety Council, the Inter-Industry Highway Safety Committee and other safety organizations. or-ganizations. In order to participate in the contest, Mr. Thorley pointed out, motorists must bring their car or truck, of any make, to the dealership for a safety check at absolutely no cost to the motorist. Free checks will be made on the brakes, steering, headlights, rear and stop lights, tires, windshield wipers, muffler, muf-fler, glass, horn and rear-view mirror. The Thorley Motor Co. will place an attractive safe driver reflector insignia on the car or truck inspected and motorists will be given an entry blank to participate in the contest. The motorist must then complete com-plete in no more than 50 additional addi-tional words the following statement: state-ment: "All cars and trucks should be safety-checked periodically peri-odically because ." . A jury of prominent persons in natjonal safety circles will judge the winners. Only one entry per car or truck may be entered. |
