Show GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OBSERVED BY MR. AND MRS. EYRE Friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C. Eyre called at their home in Minersville during an open house Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon, and tripped the light fantastic in the Minersville Miners-ville school gymnasium until a late hour Wednesday evening, in observance of the golden wedding wed-ding anniversary of the popular popu-lar couple. A mammoth anniversary anni-versary cake, baked by their daughters, was served during the afternoon. Mr. Herbert C. Eyre and Miss Nellie Rollins were married at Beaver, September 7, 1899. They have resided in Minersville ever since their marriage, raising their family there and taking an active interest in civic and church affairs. They have made scores of friends with their gentleness of manner and their sincere, unpretentious mode of life. "Herb" was born in Minersville, Miners-ville, June 27, 1882. Mrs. Eyre, also of Minersville, was born on July 22 of the same year. She has been active in the Minersville Miners-ville Ward Relief Society and the Primary Association, as well as in other church activities. Mr. Eyre, besides being active in L D S church work, has served as a Beaver County Commissioner Com-missioner and a member of the Minersville town board. He has spent his life as a farmer and cattleman, and of late years has been active in the mining industry. in-dustry. Eight children of the couple all were present at the golden wedding anniversary celebration celebra-tion . They are Rulon Eyre, Mrs. William Gibson, Mrs. T. M .Eyre, Mrs. Grant Thornton, Mrs. Ralph Tanner, Thurman Eyre, Mrs. W. J. Wtmderlich, and Garold Eyre. They also have 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. |
