Show HOW THE NEWSPAPER HELPS A COMMUNITY By Derald Jones A newspaper is a publication designed for presentation and interpretation in-terpretation of the news, issued at regular intervals, usually daily or weekly. Thru a newspaper news-paper each part of the nation becomes be-comes better acquainted with what the other parts are doing. Corner stores and other public places become centers of lively discussion of current events. Thus we have a broader outlook of life and become more inter-interested inter-interested in what the other fellow, fel-low, community, or country is doing. The rapid growth of the newspaper news-paper is due to the human desire de-sire to know the news; to know who's who; who is born or has died, etc. In our modern times the importance of the newspaper has been emphasized as the means of securing an enlightened enlight-ened citizenry under a democratic demo-cratic government. Our local newspaper helps our community because it has all the happenings that are of interest to the people. The advertising department helps the busy housewife and the thrifty, shopper to know when, what and where to buy to get the most for their money.
