Show Giii" Johnson Funeral services Friday, 1 p.m., for Mr. Johnson j Funeral services will be held i( Fric.ay at 1 p.m. in the Wheeler v Mortuary Chapel for A. G. " (Gus) Johnson, 85, who died May 21, 1969 in the Payson Hospital. Bishop Glen B. Orton I will officiate. Mr. Johnson had ' been confined tc the hospital since May 6. A grandson of original pioneers pio-neers of Springville, Mr. John-Son John-Son was born November 22, 1882 to Don C. and Lydia Boy-er Boy-er Johnson in Springville. His grandfather. Bishop Aaron I Johnson, with eight other fam-i fam-i ilies, settled in Springville in I 1850. Don C, Mr. Johnson's father, was the bishop's eldest i son. He married Floss Packard, June 22, 1912 and she preceded l him in death, having passed ! away July 30, 1959. Mi. Johnson was educated here and graduated from the Hungerford Academy. He was ' a member of the Springville Kiwanis Club. With his father, they published the "Springville Independent." forerunner of the Springville Herald, for 20 years, ,. from 1902 to 1922. After this li time Gus, as he was affection-' affection-' ately known by his many friends, continued in the publishing pub-lishing field and carried on in the job printing business until C( he retired in 1959. Survivors include the following follow-ing nieces: Mrs. Tess H. Garrison, Gar-rison, Los Angeles, California; and two daughters of a brother Don of Millard County. Friends may call tonight at the Wheeler Mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. and prior to the services ser-vices tomorrow. Burial will be in the Springville City Cemetery. |
