Show Hew course set at UTC fr store workers A cooperative effort has been launched by the local grocery industry and professional profes-sional education to establish a grocery checker education program pro-gram at Utah Technical College Col-lege at Provo. I The course will be administered adminis-tered through local distributive distribu-tive education facilities at Utah Tech. The program is part of the Supermarket Checker Ed ucation Program, which is a national program designed by the Super Market Institute, Distributive Education, and the National Cash- Register Company Com-pany to meet the industry's need for more and better trained train-ed checkers. The course consists of 62 detailed de-tailed lesson plans with 80 hours of classroom instruction and practical laboratory sessions ses-sions which allow for scheduling schedul-ing requirements and differing levels of student proficiency. By using fully-equiped checkout check-out lanes and shelving units containing live merchandise, training sessions will be conducted con-ducted under actual store conditions. |
