Show Longer hours for art Through the cooperative efforts ef-forts of the Springville Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce and the women's wo-men's club organizations and civic groups of th city, the Springville Art Gallery will be open for longer periods each week from now untily September Septem-ber 1, announces Bruce Braith-waite, Braith-waite, director. The gallery will remain closed on Mondays as usual. Hours for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays will be from 10 a.m. until 12 noon and from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 to 8 p.m. Mr. Braithwaite reports that two shows are now in progress, the traveling exhibit of Utah Associated Artists and the Linda Peterson exhibit of paintings paint-ings and unique handwork. The Peterson exhibit will continue through July. In August Aug-ust a one man show by Jim Westergard of Utah State University Uni-versity will replace it. Mr. Braithwaite reports that a tentative schedule of shows for the remainder of the year has been planned. In September, Septem-ber, the art association hopes to hold a show of the works of John Hafen, one of the founders of the Springville art movement. In October, an open show for Springville artists is planned ,with the second annual an-nual photography show in November. No-vember. December will see a display of children's art. |
