Show Alumni, varsity football game Saturday night Stadium attendants at BYU will be chalking the field and drawing the battle lines this week for the annual Alumni-Varsity Alumni-Varsity football game which is expected to draw about 10,000 fans to the spring game Saturday Satur-day night. The Cougars have been plugging plug-ging away at the off-season drills for a month now, all with an eye pinned on the game with the Alumni Stars. The kickoff for the game will be 7:30. It's understood that the Alumni Al-umni squad, which will be headed by the seniors from last year's team that won eight games while losing only two, wih De tne strongest evei brought together by the alums. While the probable starters for the Alumni team coached by the Chicago Bears' quarterback, quarter-back, Rudy Bukich, is still in doubt, varsity coach Tommy Hudspeth has a pretty good idea of his starters for Saturday Satur-day night. Right now the list of back-field back-field candidates is headed by sophomore quarterback Terry Sanford. The former all-stater from West High School in Salt Lake City has an edge over transfers John Erdhaus, who has been injured, and red-shirt red-shirt Marc Lyons. Filling out the backfield will be sophomore- fullback Ron Wakley, and halfbacks Perry Rodrigue and Wally Hawkins. Wakley will have the task of replacing John Ogden who led the WAC in rushing for three consecutive years. One of the trimmest men-around-New York is Jack Dempsey: 67 this summer. |
