Show Reviving of baseball team for CU League to be made at meeting An attempt will be made by baseball enthusiasts to offer prospective players, promoters, coaches, anyone interested, in fact, to meet Friday night, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of formulating a baseball team that can compete in the Central Cen-tral Utah baseball league. Springville owns a franchise in the league, but has not fielded a team for the past few years. The meeting will be under the direction of Gordon Smith, city recreation director, who point ed out that fellows beyond the American Legion Baseball age have no team to play on and this would give these players the opportunity to participate. Whether or not the program can succeed will depend on the turnout at the Friday night meeting which will be held in the junior high school. The Pacific Ocean is so huge that all the continents would fit easily into its 63,800,000 square miles. |
