Frank Sanford Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Ninth Ward Chapel, for J. Frank Sanford, 84, well-known Springville res- iueni, wno cuea Sunday evening, eve-ning, Oct. 23, 1966, at Eldridge Hospital, of a long illness. B'shop T. Melvin Haymond was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, directed by Wheeler Mortuary. Mr. Sanford was born Feb. 8, 1882, in Springville, a son of Cyrus and Mary Jane Hunt Sanford and married Jennie Thorn, Dec. 16, 1908, in Springville. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Follow i n g their marriage they lived in Springville, later going to Richfield, Idaho, in 1918, where Mr. Sanford engaged en-gaged in farming. In 1945 they moved to Salt Lake City for two years, then to Elko, Nev., where he engaged in ranching. They returned to Springville (Cont. on back page, col. 3) Sanford services (Continued from page one) in 1952, where Mr. Sanford was employed 'by Thorn Construction Con-struction Co. He was a member of the LDS Church, having served as superintendent of the MIA and in the bishopric while in Richfield. Rich-field. At the time of his death he was a high priest in the Springville Ninth LDS Ward. I Surviving are his widow of Springville and two sons, Hunt Sanford of Elko, Nevada, and Frank Sanford, Jr., of Seattle. Washington; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: and one sister, Mrs. Nettie Thorn of Springville. |
