Show Game said that individuals or groups are again welcomed and encouraged to take part in these range rides to see how the deer herds are wintering win-tering and what condition the ranges are in. The information gained, together with other range data collected later on by field personnel, will be considered con-sidered by the Board of Big Game Control in setting the fall hunting seasons. Conditions will be assessed on each of the State's 62 deer wintering ranges. A majority of the work is accomplished by horseback. Persons going on , these rides must furnish their own horse and should bring a lunch. Earliest of the surveys begin 1 in late February and continue 1 during the early spring. Game managers urge all who are interested in-terested to contact their local conservation officer or Department Depart-ment of Fish and Game office : iin the near future.
