The Neddlecraft Club held their annual Valentine's party at the Social Center in Spanish Fork with their husbands as euests. The tables were beautifully beau-tifully decorated in a Valentine theme. A toast to the husbands was given by Amanda Binks and a toast to the wives, by John Holley. They enjoyed group singing led by Marva Whiting and accompanied by Phyllis Smart Olsen of Provo. Mrs. Olsen also played several violin selections accompanied by her daughter. Mae Huntington Hunt-ington gave a history of Valentine's Val-entine's Day and also a valentine valen-tine story. Hostesses for the evening were Fern Whitney, Millie Bird and Harriet Nielson. About 38 people were present. Waeton Marie Stone is recovering from a fall on the ice last week, when she received a broken arm. Tommy Bona, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bona, has gone to San Diego, California, to take his basaic training in the Navy. All classes at the Mapleton School had Valentine parties last week. An assembly was held in the morning and parties with refreshments and valentines valen-tines were held in each class in the afternoon. The second and third grade classes have a new teacher this week. She is Miss Bonnie Rogers and she is replacing Mrs. Crawford. Work is going forward on the new addition to the school. The foundations are in and as soon as weather permits the building is expected to move rapidly. Some work is being done now. Steven Andreason is home on leave from Fort Campbell, Ky., where he has been training with the U. S. Army paratroopers. para-troopers. He came home especially espec-ially to see his mother who underwent major surgery two or three weeks ago. She is now recovering very satisfactorily satisfac-torily at the family home. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Hooper Hoop-er and Mrs. Nell Wiscombe attended at-tended sacrament meeting in the Salem Ward Sunday evening. eve-ning. It was a welcome home for a relative, DeVon Blad. He had just returned from the Irish LDS Mission. He told many interesting things about the rapid growth of the church in that part of the British Isles. There were about 100 members there when he first went over and now there are over 16,000. Siince President McKay's visit there a little over 16,000. Since President of conversions have been astounding. as-tounding. Cyril Thompson was recently recent-ly put in as financial clerk of the Mapleton Second Ward, replacing re-placing Taylor Burt, who has served in this job ever since the two wards were divided.
