Show Annual rides to start game survey The annual rides to survey and inventory Utah's big game wintering ranges will soon get underway. The department of fish and game reminded that individuals individu-als or groups are again welcomed wel-comed and encouraged to take part in this field program during dur-ing which data is gathered and later weighed by the Board of Big Game Control in setting the fall hunting seasons. Conditions will be assessed on each of the state's 62 deer wintering ranges. Majority of the work is accomplished by horseback. Earliest of the surveys begin be-gin in late February and continue con-tinue during the early w eeks of spring. Game managers urge all who are interested to contact con-tact their local conservation officer or department of fish and game office in the near future. February 15 marked the closing clos-ing of the special winter white-fishing white-fishing season on the Logan, Blacksmith Fork and Weber rivers. Whitefish, like all fishes in these and other waters, may again be legally taken with the opening of the general angling ang-ling season next May 30. |
