Show Mapleton seeks policemen; improving hill Mapleton is planning to enlarge en-large and improve facilities for sleighing on the slope at the mouth of Maple Canyon, it was announced this week following the regular meeting of the city council Monday evening. According to City Recorder, Norris T. Binks, members of the county commission and the forest service are to be contacted con-tacted to see what assistance can be procured. Presently large crowds of sports enthusiasts enthusi-asts from Mapleton and surrounding sur-rounding areas are sleighing on the hill. At the council meeting also, it was decided that Mapletnn would have some volunteer policemen po-licemen to assist the town mar-shall. mar-shall. A similar plan has been carried out by Springville and is proving successful. The city is calling for volunteer vol-unteer auxiliary officers and they are asked to contact Mr. Binks. The men must be at least 21 and married, he said. Mr. Binks would like the names of volunteers by March 15. Fay Jensen is presently serving as city marshall.
