Show Hlmie thentre swwey sef t puhlk meefm The Brigham Young University Uni-versity research team, which has done considerable work to determine desires of Spring-ville Spring-ville and Mapleton citizens regarding re-garding the opening of a theater thea-ter in Springville, will make a report at a meeting next Wed- nesday, February 12, at 7:30 p. m., in the junior high school. The PTA Council was asked by the city council to direct plans for the meeting to which everyone is urged to attend. The mayor and council members mem-bers and members of the Community Com-munity Development Council will also be in attendance. In presenting the report, BYU students will use slides and charts to show the results of their survey, in which a representative group of homes were contacted. Such questions as: How often of-ten do you go to a picture show? How often do you go to a show out of town? Would you be willing to assist with the re-opening of a picture show in Sprignville? Also, other oth-er inquiries were made. The council contributed $100 toward the survey and the students stu-dents put in approximately 1500 hours in the house to house contact, members of the PTA Council report. The meeting will not only feature a report on the survey, sur-vey, but citizens will be given an opportunity to express their ideas and opinions on the reopening re-opening of a picture show in Springville. The meeting will also constitute con-stitute the February Founder's Day program for the PTA. Utility building, other improvements planned Heads of the various departments depart-ments in the city gave their reports at the city council meeting Monday evening, and submitted suggestions for needed need-ed equipment. The council reported that a new utility building is being planned for the water department depart-ment at the same location oi the other utility buildings on 9th East, 4th South. Approval was also given the purchase of a new piece of equipment for the streets department, de-partment, a mechanized salt and cinder spreader to cost approximately ap-proximately $2,000. Another item of business approved ap-proved at the council meeting was termination of the lease on property west of the sewer disposal plant, which council-men council-men stated, will be needed by the city. It was also announced that a $25 license will be required for each pinball machine in the city. Delinquent utility bills came in for discussion at the meeting meet-ing and it was decided that all delinquent accounts will be required to pay the current bill plus at least a 20 percent delinquent de-linquent account. The council also decided to allow the sexton $175 for the purchase of new planks and greens to be used in his work. They said that hereafter cement ce-ment or steel vaults will be required re-quired for all burials. It was recommended and approved ap-proved by the council at the meeting, that next year's budget bud-get provide for modern rest room facilities at the cemeteries ceme-teries i India voices displeasure at criticism from U.
