Show Primary urges cooperation in Tenny drive February is the birthday month of the Primary Children's Child-ren's Hospital. The objective of the hospital is to help children who can be cured or rehabilitated to become be-come normal, useful citizens. The hospital serves any eligible child under fourteen years of age, without regard to race color or creed. Once a year, duriing February, Febru-ary, all Primary officers and teachers make a canvass of their wards inviting anyone interested in-terested in the welfare of sick and crippled .children, to contribute. con-tribute. When this method of collection was begun, people were asked to give a penny or more for each birthday of every ev-ery member of the family. Over Ov-er the years the cost of the hospitalization has increased the number of services it offers of-fers to children. In 1958, people were asked to donate two pennies for each birthday. Pennies have never been used to a better advantage, advan-tage, officers point out. The hospital employees 218 people. There is a medical staff of 252 doctors who can be called in to render service. A total of 5,675 patients were admitted last year and 4,257 operations performed. Visitors are welcome to visit vis-it Monday through Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Officers and teachers ask that when a Primary worker calls at your home this month, be generously "old." |
