Colorful wildflowers now in bloom at park CEDAR BREAKS NATIONAL MONUMENT Wildflowers Wild-flowers in the meadows here are putting on an exceptional display of color this year. Summer rams and the warm sun have combined to make this one of the best years for beautiful wildflowers in recent memory, according to park employees. Park naturalists have identified over 50 varieties of wild plants that are now in bloom. With continued warm weather more species are added to the list each day, bringing new color and variety to the already dazzling display. Of particular interest are the Indian paintbrush, columbine, wild parsley and bluebonnet. Wildflower exhibits in the Point Supreme Visitor Center help visitors identify the various plant species. Park naturalists conduct daily walks at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. highlighting the wildflowers and other aspects of natural beauty found at Cedar Breaks. |
