Show Letter from the editor Dear Doctor: I still trust Dr. David Brown Cedar City, Utah Dear Doctor Brown: Now, before you angrily crumple up this paper and throw it as far as you can, read on a little further. I can understand un-derstand why you might be a little angry at me and at the Iron County Record, but I think you will really want to read what I have to say here. I just want you to know that I don't plan on changing doctors. That should be enough said, but, then again, I can never say anything in that few words. So let me wax on, elequently or otherwise. You and the other doctors of your clinic have been our family's doctor since I first moved to town over three years ago. You have been my wife's doctor for about 20 years. You have delivered two of my three children. You will probably deliver the next on. (No, mom, this is not an announcement.) . What I am trying to say is that, even with all the recent controversy, even with all the criticism, even with all the accusations I am not going to change doctors. And I will not change doctors Bruce until 1 am given some reason'to believe that I am not getting excellent family health care. I don't agree with any infighting, threats or otherwise unprofessional activities that may have been happening hap-pening in the medical community recently; but I also don't agree to hastily changing doctors because of what somebody has said or because of disagreements. Granted, you and I disagree on some important issues of the place of specialists in Cedar City, but then I disagree with almost everybody in town on at least one point, With some people, I admit that I am probably more disagreeable than agreeable. (Or is it some people that are more disagreeable.) Either way, you and I can disagree on this point, and I can still have the faith and trust in you that I need in a doctor. I know, as I'm sure you do, of the nasty' little rumors floating around town about you. I choose not to believe them. The way I see it, I am mature enough and smart enough (I hear you all giggling) to know when to consult another doctor, or specialist. And, when and if I need to, I will. In the meantime, when my family needs a good family specialist, we will continue to come to you and to the other doctors of your clinic. Now, enough said. A satisfied patient |
