Show II iff iWLr S K;Ei mL AS A demolished automobile rests on its top following a single car accident on old highway 91, one mile north of Summit. John E. Murphy III, age 10, was killed in the mishap. The boy's parents and three sisters were in the car at the time of the crash. The family was on their way to Disneyland from Hooper, Utah. Accident claims life of Hooper, Utah boy A Hooper, Utah boy was killed Monday when the car his mother was driving left the road and rolled on State Highway 91, one mile north of Summit. Killed was John E. Murphy III, age 10. Murphy was in the car with his parents and three sisters when the accident occured at about 9:25 a.m. The family was traveling southbound. L destined for California. Connie B. Murphy, age 40, was the driver of the vehicle and was not seriously hurt. Passengers in the car included John E. Murphy, Mur-phy, age 41 and children Pamela, 12; Cheryl, 8 and Allyson,4. The five suffered suf-fered cuts and bruises. All were taken to the Valley View Medical Center and released. The driver left the right my side of the road, corrected left and then over-corrected right and left the road, hitting a power pole and . fence while rolling one-half time. A post from the fence struck the boy, killing him, according to Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. LeGrand Lyman. Investigating officer was Highway Patrol Trooper Steve Howard. |
