Students from Dixie and North Sanpete, high schools have been awarded full-tuition scholarships to Southern Utah State College as a result of their performance per-formance at SUSC's Business Vocational Day. Scholarship recipients include Nada Prisbrey, Dixie High School, in typewriting, and North Sanpete students Tom Cox in accounting and Jody Gilgan in shorthand. All three scholarship winners are high school seniors. Last year students from Hurricane and Richfield were awarded the scholarships according ac-cording to Larry A. Olsen, chairman of SUSC's annual b business competition. Over 450 junior and senior high school students were on campus Tuesday to compete in typewriting I and II, shorthand I and II, accounting, ac-counting, alphabetic filing, spelling relay, business machines math and, for the first time this year, in business English and American free enterprise en-terprise contests. "These students represented 27 Utah and Nevada schools," Olsen said. "Winners in each category, except spelling, were determined in both large and small school divisions. "We are very pleased with the large number of students who participated par-ticipated in the business contests and with the high level of competency shown this year," he said.
