Show r li il W t 'Juilliard String Quartet Flaws Beethoven' The 'first family of chamber music returns to television on Wednesday, August 13, when GREAT PERFORMANCES presents 'The Juilliard String Quartet Plays Beethoven.' Martin Bookspan hosts this WNETNew York presentation. Filmed in the Baroque Leopoldskron Library outside of Munich, the unique American ensemble performs two of Beethoven's quartets: Opus 18, No. 4 in C minor, and Opus 59, No. 1 in F major, also known as 'Rasumovsky.' Martin Bookspan talks with members of the quartet during the intermission. The Juilliard String Quartet consists of first (left to right) violinist Robert Mann, a member since the quartet was formed over 30 years ago, Earl Carlyss (violin), Joel .Krosnick (cello) and Samuel Rhodes (viola).
