Show Brian Head signs contract for new sewer By Nancy Dalton Record Correspondent BrianHead--Brian Head is improving city utilities and adding new recreational facilities to its community. Mayor Rex Emenegger and council members signed contracts with Hall Bros., Inc., and Stratton Bros. Construction Con-struction Company to install Brian Head's sewer system. Hall .Bros, broke ground July 28, and will complete the upper portion of the sewer line. Completing the lower half to Parowan will be Stratton Bros.. Completion date is set for Jan. 31, 1981. Town officers say they have been waiting for the day to move into their new town hall. That day arrived last week as they began moving into the building along with the Volunteer Fire Department and ambulance service. One council member remarked he was glad a all departments were located in one building instead of "scattered around." During the summer.-several of the town's condominiums have scheduled camps. Chalet Village is hosting the track camp which has returned to Brian Head for the ninth consecutive year. Coach Richard Heywood, who is responsible for these camps, brought up his track team from Mesa, Ariz. Bristlecone Hostel hosted three one-week one-week camps for a Gifted Children group of Las Vegas, Nev. During their one-week one-week stay, they learned hiking skills, made crafts, participated in team sports and visited the Shakespearean Festival. Many Brian Head tourists spent their afternoons riding horses or the chairleft. Ski Lift 2 is open daily from noon to dusk. Ed Hanks, owner of Hi-Country Hi-Country Stables, has added lunch rides to his regular schedule. Alpine Stables, run by Wes Fry, have added hay rides and upcoming winter, sleigh riding. Both stables have guided rides, riding schools, pack trips, breakfast and steak , rides, and will cater to group parties. |
