WEAVER RECORD CORRESPONDENT If you have a special birthday or anniversary coming up and would like to try your hand at decorating a cake, but just haven't found an icing that works the way you'd like it to, here's the answer. Lenore Roundy is sharing the recipe she uses professionally. It is excellent for roses, flowers, etc. Mrs. Roundy indicates it works well for everything but lattice work. Thank you Lenore for sharing! DECORATING ICING 2 lbs powdered sugar I 1 cup Crisco (must be Crisco) 4 oz. milk 1 tsp vanilla '2 tsp butter flavoring dash of salt Mix 1 lb powdered sugar with everything else. Beat well with an electric beater or mixer. Add the rest of the powdered sugar and whip to right consistency. It keeps well covered in the refrigerator or freezer. For variation you can grate in a little orange concentrate and it's delicious on chocolate cake. It is also delicious just plain for Applesauce cake.
