When steam engines were the thing, big water tanks like this one at Milford, were common, but most have been removed since the railroads went to diesel electric. Engine 8444 was a brute for power in it's day, and still gains the respect of those who worked on her or one like her. It visited Milford twice this Spring, and drew kids from 8 to 80 while on display. And if you had questions, Tony Williams was there to answer them . with plenty of help from other Railroaders standing around. Many local businesses will hawk merchandise on the sidewalks in front of their businesses from 10 a.m. to Noon Thursday. There will be bargains galore for the thrifty shopper shop-per and many more specials inside the stores. The Business Association annually sponsors a Sidewalk Side-walk Sale in July.
