They enriched the lives of those who were fortunate enough to meet and know them, . and added a dimension to the education of other MHS students. Over twenty five hundred foreign students will come to the U.S. in September for the '79-80 school year, or for 3 or 6 month periods under the sponsorship of International In-ternational Fellowship, Inc. This non profit organization is now in its 27th year and is the largest exchange student program in Latin American, and there are chapters in Europe and in the Orient. The youngsters will arrive between September 1 and January 1, and will need host homes. They want to live with US families for 3, 6, or 9 months, and attend the high school to which the children chil-dren of the neighborhood go. High schools as a rule, are anxious to participate in the exchange programs when there is no cost involved. They are recom- mended by their own schools, I screened by the IFI and for the most part, speak Eng-1 Eng-1 Hsh. They come, not as V guests, but as members of the family, sharing in the tasks, and the family host-f host-f ing them may claim them for 1 income tax purposes. They r have their own money for 1 personal expenses and are insured against accidents, I illness, prescriptions. The k receiving family agrees to j provide a bed, three meals i daily, transportation to ' school and church, andlaun- dry. Students may share a " room . - For each foreign student attending a US High School, that school is eligible to send a student abroad.
